Italia

Yes, yes, yes, I am going to talk about the Ferrari 458 Italia. I'm crazy about this car, to start off. It's a mid-engined rear-wheel drive supercar produced by Ferrari and it replaced the F430. It came into production in 15th September, 2009. It's powered by a 4.5 litre V8 engine, producing 562HP at 9000 rpm with 540NM at 6000 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first one for a Ferrari mid-engine setup in its road cars. It features a dual-clutch 7-speed GETRAG gearbox with no manual option. It's told to go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 325km/h. The spider version has the same specifications, except for the top speed, which is 316km/h. The fuel consumption for this model is about 13.3 litres/100km. As usual, Ferrari has issued many callbacks for this model. In 2010, BBC News reported, that 10 cars had either crashed or caught fire in just three months and later on, Ferrari officially recalled all of the 1248 units of the 458. In 2012, Ferrari recalled certain 2011 and 2012 models because the engine freezed suddenly and possibly caused a crash.
In contrary, the 458 has won the "Car of the Year 2009", "Supercar of the Year" and also "Cabrio of the Year 2011". Auto Zeitung magazine awarded the Ferrari 458 Spider the "Best Cabriolet of 2011" and Motor Trend awarded the Ferrari 458 Italia with the title of "Best Driver's Car of 2011".
It costs about 212 000 euros, which is a lot for a 8am-5pm working man, but I want to think, that this car is worth every penny. The following pictures are all the property of leftlanenews.com and teamspeed.com, T.Morville and I do not own any rights for these pictures.
