In 2007, the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera was released. Superleggera means superlight and it's actually 100kg lighter than the ordinary coupe. It produces 523HP at 8000 rpm with peak torque of 510NM at 4250 rpm. It takes it 3.8 seconds to reach 100km/h and it can reach up to 315km/h. The average fuel consumption for this model is 19.5 litres per 100km. Lamborghini announced in 2008, that they had ceased production with 172 Superleggeras produced.
The second generation of Gallardo was presented as a LP 560-4 in 2008. This has a 5.2 litre V10 engine with 552HP at 8000 rpm and with 540NM of torque at 6500 rpm. This has 4-wheel drive, same as the spyder version. The new engine was more powerful than any of the previous cars but yet it had smaller fuel consumption - 14 litres per 100km. It takes it 3.7 seconds to reach 100km/h with a top speed of 325 km/h. It also had a spyder version - everything was the same except it took it 3.9 seconds to reach 100km/h and it had a top speed of 323km/h.
The LP 570-4 Superleggera was released in 2010 and it had 562HP at 8000rpm with peak torque of 540NM at 6500 rpm. Its weight had also been reduced, making it weigh only 1340kg. Performance had been improved to 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds with top speed of 325km/h. The average fuel consumption for this model is 13.5 litres per 100km. There is also a spyder version of this model, with only difference of top speed - 324km/h.
In 2011 the LP 550-2 was released as a coupe and as a spyder. This was the lowest priced model of the Gallardos. This has, as the name states, rear-wheel drive. It had 542HP at 8000 rpm with peak torque of 540NM at 6500 rpm. It took 3.9 seconds for the LP 550-2 to reach 100km/h with a top speed of 320km/h. The average fuel consumption for both of these models is 14.9 litres per 100km.
There are many special editions for the Gallardo:
First generation SE - it was introduced in 2005. Only 250 units were sold. It is distinguished from the regular Gallardo externally by having a black-roofed two-tone color scheme as well as specially designed Callisto rims. It comes with a two-tone interior. All piping and stitching on the ultra-quality leather are executed in the same color as the bodywork of the car. The midsections of the seats are finished in color-coded upholstery and even the black floormatts have a color-coded borders. A rear-view camera is standard on the Gallardo SE, as is the multimedia and navigation system, the sport suspension and an exclusive cover. The optional E-gear transmission, came with a new function, 'thrust' mode, this feature automatically revs the car to 5,000 rpm, drops the clutch engaging all four wheels in a controlled burnout, and ensures the car performs maximum acceleration.
First generation Nera - The Gallardo Nera is a special edition limited to 185 units of the Gallardo. The car was designed to showcase the customization options available to the customer in the Ad Personam program. It features special matte black body panels, and is only available in a special shade of black, a combination of Nero Serapis and Nero Noctis. Brake calipers are painted a special silver, and the taillights are smoked to match the darker paint scheme. The interior is stitched from high-contrast black and white leather in the Q-Citura (lozenge shaped) fashion.
Second generation LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni(actually the usual 550-2) - Limited to 250 units, this Gallardo was named after Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni and to his request, unlike the contemporary line-up, the Balboni is rear-wheel drive, reducing the curbweight by 30 kg to 1,470 kg. Other features include re-calibrated optional E-gear transmission, redeveloped 45% limited slip differential, full leather black upholstery with white colour strips, Polar white centre console, a stripe down the centre of the car, and a badge below the left side window bears the signature of Valentino Balboni and the production number of the car.
Second generation LP 560-4 Gold edition - The gold edition was designed exclusively for the Chinese market and was unveiled at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau International auto show. Only 10 was made at a price of 630 000 euros.
Second generation Bicolore - The Bicolore is a special edition of the Gallardo, available in both LP 560-4 and LP 550-2 trims. Released in 2010 it features a unique two-tone paint job. The car is available only in orange, yellow, silver, white or blue with a black roof with unique Skorplus alloy rims.
There are many more and it's useless for me to list those. Basically the gallardo is not a cheap car, its prices start from 130 000 euros and they can go up to 270 000 euros, regarding the usual models.
