Lamborghini Gallardo

The yellow dream also known as Lamborghini Gallardo is a supercar named after a famous breed of fighting bull. The first generation Gallardo coupe came with a 5.0 litre V10. It has an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized gearbox, which Lamborghini abbreviates to E-gear and it allows the driver to make shifts much faster than they could with a manual transmission. It has 493HP at 7800 rpm with 510NM of torque at 4500 rpm. It takes 4.2 seconds to reach 100km/h and the yellow dream can catch up to 309km/h. Did I mention it's rear-wheel drive? It has a fuel consumption of 19.5 litres per 100km, oh my god. It also had a spyder version, which was released in 2006. It has 513HP at 8000 rpm with torque of 510NM at 4250 rpm. The cabriolet reaches 100km/h in 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 315 km/h. It had a fuel consumption of 20.6 litres per 100km.
In 2007, the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera was released. Superleggera means superlight and it's actually 100kg lighter than the ordinary coupe. It produces 523HP at 8000 rpm with peak torque of 510NM at 4250 rpm. It takes it 3.8 seconds to reach 100km/h and it can reach up to 315km/h. The average fuel consumption for this model is 19.5 litres per 100km. Lamborghini announced in 2008, that they had ceased production with 172 Superleggeras produced.
The second generation of Gallardo was presented as a LP 560-4 in 2008. This has a 5.2 litre V10 engine with 552HP at 8000 rpm and with 540NM of torque at 6500 rpm. This has 4-wheel drive, same as the spyder version. The new engine was more powerful than any of the previous cars but yet it had smaller fuel consumption - 14 litres per 100km. It takes it 3.7 seconds to reach 100km/h with a top speed of 325 km/h. It also had a spyder version - everything was the same except it took it 3.9 seconds to reach 100km/h and it had a top speed of 323km/h.
The LP 570-4 Superleggera was released in 2010 and it had 562HP at 8000rpm with peak torque of 540NM at 6500 rpm. Its weight had also been reduced, making it weigh only 1340kg. Performance had been improved to 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds with top speed of 325km/h. The average fuel consumption for this model is 13.5 litres per 100km. There is also a spyder version of this model, with only difference of top speed - 324km/h.
In 2011 the LP 550-2 was released as a coupe and as a spyder. This was the lowest priced model of the Gallardos. This has, as the name states, rear-wheel drive. It had 542HP at 8000 rpm with peak torque of 540NM at 6500 rpm. It took 3.9 seconds for the LP 550-2 to reach 100km/h with a top speed of 320km/h. The average fuel consumption for both of these models is 14.9 litres per 100km.
There are many special editions for the Gallardo:
First generation SE - it was introduced in 2005. Only 250 units were sold. It is distinguished from the regular Gallardo externally by having a black-roofed two-tone color scheme as well as specially designed Callisto rims. It comes with a two-tone interior. All piping and stitching on the ultra-quality leather are executed in the same color as the bodywork of the car. The midsections of the seats are finished in color-coded upholstery and even the black floormatts have a color-coded borders. A rear-view camera is standard on the Gallardo SE, as is the multimedia and navigation system, the sport suspension and an exclusive cover. The optional E-gear transmission, came with a new function, 'thrust' mode, this feature automatically revs the car to 5,000 rpm, drops the clutch engaging all four wheels in a controlled burnout, and ensures the car performs maximum acceleration.
First generation Nera - The Gallardo Nera is a special edition limited to 185 units of the Gallardo. The car was designed to showcase the customization options available to the customer in the Ad Personam program. It features special matte black body panels, and is only available in a special shade of black, a combination of Nero Serapis and Nero Noctis. Brake calipers are painted a special silver, and the taillights are smoked to match the darker paint scheme. The interior is stitched from high-contrast black and white leather in the Q-Citura (lozenge shaped) fashion.
Second generation LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni(actually the usual 550-2) -  Limited to 250 units, this Gallardo was named after Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni and to his request, unlike the contemporary line-up, the Balboni is rear-wheel drive, reducing the curbweight by 30 kg to 1,470 kg. Other features include re-calibrated optional E-gear transmission, redeveloped 45% limited slip differential, full leather black upholstery with white colour strips, Polar white centre console, a stripe down the centre of the car, and a badge below the left side window bears the signature of Valentino Balboni and the production number of the car.
Second generation LP 560-4 Gold edition - The gold edition was designed exclusively for the Chinese market and was unveiled at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macau International auto show. Only 10 was made at a price of 630 000 euros.
Second generation Bicolore - The Bicolore is a special edition of the Gallardo, available in both LP 560-4 and LP 550-2 trims. Released in 2010 it features a unique two-tone paint job. The car is available only in orange, yellow, silver, white or blue with a black roof with unique Skorplus alloy rims.
There are many more and it's useless for me to list those. Basically the gallardo is not a cheap car, its prices start from 130 000 euros and they can go up to 270 000 euros, regarding the usual models.

Italia

Yes, yes, yes, I am going to talk about the Ferrari 458 Italia. I'm crazy about this car, to start off. It's a mid-engined rear-wheel drive supercar produced by Ferrari and it replaced the F430. It came into production in 15th September, 2009. It's powered by a 4.5 litre V8 engine, producing 562HP at 9000 rpm with 540NM at 6000 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first one for a Ferrari mid-engine setup in its road cars. It features a dual-clutch 7-speed GETRAG gearbox with no manual option. It's told to go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 325km/h. The spider version has the same specifications, except for the top speed, which is 316km/h. The fuel consumption for this model is about 13.3 litres/100km. As usual, Ferrari has issued many callbacks for this model. In 2010, BBC News reported, that 10 cars had either crashed or caught fire in just three months and later on, Ferrari officially recalled all of the 1248 units of the 458. In 2012, Ferrari recalled certain 2011 and 2012 models because the engine freezed suddenly and possibly caused a crash.
In contrary, the 458 has won the "Car of the Year 2009", "Supercar of the Year" and also "Cabrio of the Year 2011". Auto Zeitung magazine awarded the Ferrari 458 Spider the "Best Cabriolet of 2011" and Motor Trend awarded the Ferrari 458 Italia with the title of "Best Driver's Car of 2011".
It costs about 212 000 euros, which is a lot for a 8am-5pm working man, but I want to think, that this car is worth every penny. The following pictures are all the property of leftlanenews.com and teamspeed.com, T.Morville and I do not own any rights for these pictures.

The original James Bond car

That's right - I'm talking about Aston Martin DB5. It's often billed as the most famous car in the world as it starred in James Bond's Goldfinger movie. The Aston Martin DB5 is a luxury grand tourer, that was made by Aston Martin and designed by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. The DB series was named honouring David Brown, who was the head of Aston Martin from 1947-1972). This was available as a coupe and as a convertible. Only 123 convertibles were produced and they did not use the typical Volante name until 1965. Many of these convertibles were fitted with DB6 engines and DB5 Vantage engines. Its DOHC straight six, 4 liter engine produced 282HP at 5500 rpm with peak torque of 380NM at 4500rpm. The DB5 has a 5-speed gearbox with optional 3-speed automatic. It's rear-wheel drive and weighs 1468kg. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds with a top speed of 229km/h. The average fuel consumption for the coupe version is about 16.1 litres per 100km. The coupe version cost 4926 euros as new and the convertible version cost 5298 euros. They cost now about 300 000 to 400 000 euros. There is also a high performance DB5 Vantage, which was introduced in 1964 and there was only 65 of them made. It delivered greater top-end performance at the expense of overall flexibility, especially as legendary Weber carburettors are renowned as full-throttle devices. The Vantage produced 325HP at 5750 rpm and 393NM at 4500 rpm. It's 3kg-s lighter than the ordinay DB5, weighing 1465kg. Top speed is 252 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 6.2 seconds, which is astounding. Average fuel consumption for the Vantage is about 16.4 litres per 100km. It costs a little bit more than the usual DB5. The convertible versions for both, DB5 and DB5 Vantage show the same specifications. Though the DB5 coupe is known the best - the convertible's roof construction have degraded by time. I just love that car, unfortunately, I can never afford it, nor I can drive it, which is quite sad for a car enthusiast like me. Ferrari F355

I'm pretty hyped for this car, because this was my dream car, when I was a kid. Just as the 512 TR I talked about earlier, it's a classical Ferrari for me, just what I look in a Ferrari. To be honest, it's one of the best sport cars of its era and even today, it is still a beautiful sight on the roads. It was built from 1994 to 1999 and it's relatively common as Ferrari produced 11273 units of them. It's a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive V8 two-seat coupe, targa(you could remove the hardtop yourself, but the roof constructions on engine cover remained) or convertible. This 3.5 litre V8 produced 380HP(279kw) at 8250 rpm, 363NM at 6000 rpm and did 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h. The car's frame is a steel monocoque with tubular steel rear sub-frame with front and rear suspensions using independent, unequal-length wishbones, coil springs over gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers with electronic control servos and anti-roll bars. This car allows selection between two damper settings: comfort and sport. Aerodynamic design for the car included 1300 hours of windtunnel analysis. The car's standard seats are upholstered with hides from Connolly Leather, and are fitted asymmetrically in the car, which results in the driver being slightly closer to the car's center line than the passenger. At launch in May 1994, two models were available: the coupe Berlinetta and the targa version GTS. The spider version was introduced in 1995. What's interesting is the fact, that the nomenclature does not follow the formula from the previous decades(engine capacity is followed by number of cylinders), for example Ferrari 246 - 2 and 4 stand for 2.4 litres and the 6 stands for 6 cylinders. For the F355, they used engine capacity followed by the number of valves per cylinder - 3.5 litres engine capacity and 5 valves per cylinder to bring the performance advances introduced by a 5 valve per cylinder configuration intro the forefront. Initially, for the Berlinetta, the 6-speed manual gearbox was the only transmission available. However, in 1997, the Berlinetta was the first ever road car to be equipped with the innovative F1-style gearbox management system. Derived directly from Formula 1, where it made its debut in 1989 winning the Brazilian Grand Prix, the electro-hydraulic system was operated by paddles behind the steering wheel using the F355’s conventional 6-speed manual gearbox. The new transmission guaranteed lightning-quick gear changes, with the additional advantage that both the driver’s hands could stay on the wheel at all times. The average fuel consumption for the Berlinetta was about 15.3 litres/100km. The Berlinetta was priced about 100 000 euros as new, but now it's available for about 40 000 euros. It's now more affordable than ever before. It's truly one of my dream cars and I would truly consider buying it if I wasn't living in Estonia, where the roads are the same as a chocolate cookie crisp. I wonder if it's reliable and easy to work with. The pictures below are the property of MotorCars International and I do not own any rights for these pictures

A classical car

This one is my favorite classical automobile - BMW 325i Coupe (E30). It looks like a furious beaver, that's going to eat your soul and it's shaped a little like a box, which perfectly brings out the characters of that time - it was released in 1982. It has a 2.5 litre L6 engine, which produces 173HP(128kw) at 5800 rpm and 222NM at 4000 rpm. It's top speed is about 211 km/h and with an acceleration from 0 to 100km/h of 8.3 seconds. It consumes only 8.9 litres of petrol per 100km. It's rear-wheel drive, with a manual, 5-speed gearbox. It weighs only around 1176kg, which is purely due the lack of fancy electronics and driver assists. The E30 was the second generation of the 3 series. It featured an all-new E30 platform, redesigned front spoiler and revised suspension. It came with ABS and radio - these were the only comfort options on this car. You can get a proper 325i from Germany for about 5000-9000 euros. It's expensive, because it has proved to be one of these classical cars, whose value should increase with time. I can't argue with that, because it is a fantastic car to look at and since I have even driven it myself, it feels to be the epitome of a real car. I have even thought about buying one of these exemplars really soon, and maybe convert it into a hobby car - a sunday car to have fun with. It's all of the things that a real car should be.
